Atlanta, Georgia
I'm a commercial real estate executive based in Atlanta. I try to think like an owner, act like a fiduciary, and take a long-term view in everything I do.
What I Do
I'm the Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel at Holder Properties, a privately held commercial real estate investment, development, and management firm in Atlanta. My work spans transactions, operations, and strategy across the portfolio. I'm also a licensed attorney — a background that shapes how I structure deals and think about risk.
Before Holder Properties, I worked on real estate investment and development transactions as a senior associate at Eversheds Sutherland in Atlanta.
Investment Philosophy
The best investments reward patience. I'd rather own a durable asset at a fair price than a mediocre one at a bargain.
At heart, I'm a value investor. Whether I'm looking at real estate, a business, or a public company, I'm drawn to the same things: durable fundamentals, honest management, and a price that doesn't require optimistic assumptions to work out. The mental models I've borrowed from Buffett, Munger, and Klarman — margin of safety, competitive moats, the compounding power of reinvested cash flow — apply across asset classes.
Commercial real estate is where I spend most of my professional time, and I find it genuinely interesting. But I'm equally drawn to owner-operated businesses where management has meaningful skin in the game, thinks in decades rather than quarters, and allocates capital with care. The businesses I find most interesting tend to be boring, durable, and underappreciated.
Currently
At Holder Properties, our current development focus is on industrial warehouse facilities and luxury build-to-rent townhome communities across the Southeast — two asset classes we find compelling on a long-term basis. We also own and operate office assets, have an active student housing business, and have completed notable studio projects including the Lionsgate Studios Atlanta campus development. Across all of these, we manage over five million square feet of space.
On the operations side, I'm focused on making sure our team works as efficiently as possible. That means deploying AI tools across the business, tightening our systems and processes, and growing our third-party property management business — which lets us scale our operational expertise beyond our own portfolio.
Personal
I live in Sandy Springs with my wife Carly and our three kids — Dean (8), Layla (7), and Noah (3). They keep life fun, loud, and properly grounded.
I'm a UGA Bulldogs fan, follow the Hawks and Braves, and try to take fitness seriously. I read a lot — mostly investing, business history, and biography — and travel when I get the chance.
